The OSG 8667725 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production and machining environments. Ground to a 140-degree split-point angle, the bit starts on contact without a center punch and reduces thrust load in hard materials. The WXL coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous applications. With an overall length of 118 millimeters and a 7.25 millimeter cutting diameter, this bit fits standard CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines with compatible chucks or collets. It is typically specified by machinists, toolroom technicians, and production floor operators.
The OSG 8667725 is suited for drilling into a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by its P, M, K, and S material group ratings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 58 millimeter flute length support chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. The straight-cylindrical shank at 8 millimeters diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and ER collet systems. Series 5210 is positioned for high-performance applications where tool life and hole quality are critical.
Designed as a high-performance solid carbide jobber drill for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses capable of accepting an 8 millimeter straight shank, suitable for P, M, K, and S workpiece material classifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are clean and properly torqued before seating the shank. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm the machine tool is set up for internal coolant delivery at appropriate pressure. Handle solid carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during storage and setup.
