The OSG 8623285 is an extra length cobalt drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built from M6K-grade cobalt high-speed steel with a WXL finish, it delivers extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. The bit measures 8.50 mm (0.3346 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 265.00 mm and a flute length of 196.00 mm, making it well suited for applications where standard-length bits cannot reach. A 120-degree standard point and right-hand spiral flute geometry support accurate entry and efficient chip evacuation. This bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills.
The OSG 8623285 Series 1750 extra length drill bit is used in metalworking applications requiring deep penetration, including structural fabrication, mold and die work, and general machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The fast spiral type and R-thinned, tapered web reduce thrust forces and improve chip flow in deep-hole scenarios. Its straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification, making it practical for both machine-tool and portable-drill use.
Designed as an OEM-style extra length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.3346-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, machining center, or portable power drill. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning the cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being drilled, noting that this bit does not have through-coolant capability. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace when point geometry shows signs of degradation to avoid workpiece damage.
