The OSG 8623221 is an extra length cobalt drill bit designed for demanding precision drilling applications where standard-length bits fall short. Measuring 2.1 mm in diameter with a 90 mm overall length and a 50 mm flute length, this bit provides extended reach into deep-hole applications. The 120-degree drill point angle and proprietary R-thinned web geometry reduce thrust and improve centering at entry. OSG WXL coating enhances wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in hard and abrasive materials. Two right-hand spiral flutes evacuate chips efficiently, making this bit well suited for production environments and tight-tolerance work.
This extra length drill bit is used in metalworking, precision machining, and fabrication applications where a standard jobber-length bit cannot reach. The 2.1 mm diameter and 20xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it appropriate for deep-hole drilling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with small-diameter deep-hole applications will find this bit directly applicable to their setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use extra length drill bit for standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 2.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists and toolroom technicians using standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held precision drilling equipment. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Disengage the machine and isolate power before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the bit diameter or material hardness ratings specified by the manufacturer, and apply appropriate cutting fluid to extend tool life in hard ferrous materials.
