The OSG 8613191 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from powdered metal (PM) with a V coating, it measures 15/32 inch (0.4688 inch decimal) in diameter and carries a 130-degree split point with R-thinned web geometry. The overall length is 158 mm (approximately 6.22 inches), with a flute length of 101 mm (approximately 3.98 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank measures 12 mm in diameter. This bit is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators working with ferrous and high-strength materials.
The 8613191 is engineered for drilling into steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces. Its tool application profile covers blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, standard through drilling, and self-centering entry. The R-thinned point reduces entry force and improves centering without a pilot hole. The regular spiral with two flutes promotes efficient chip evacuation in both production and maintenance drilling environments. It is sold individually and fits standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks.
Designed as a direct-fit jobber-length drill bit for any standard drill chuck or CNC spindle accepting a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes P, K, S, and H confirm suitability for steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy applications per ISO material classification. Part of OSG Series 1950.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC machining center. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within acceptable limits to preserve the diameter tolerance of +0 to -0.027 mm. Power down or de-energize the machine before changing bits. Coolant-through is not supported on this model; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling deep blind holes or high-hardness alloys.
