The OSG 8597407 is a TiN-coated vanadium high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. It features a 4.07 mm diameter with a 120-degree point angle and an S-thinned point geometry that reduces thrust force and promotes self-centering at entry. The titanium nitride coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and reducing friction. Overall length is 87 millimeters with a 43 millimeter flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 millimeters in diameter, fitting standard drill chucks without adapters. This bit is built for production environments where consistent hole quality and tool longevity matter.

Installation Notes

Install and remove drill bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to prevent runout. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or coolant externally when drilling stainless steel or hard alloys to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edge and TiN coating for wear before each use, as a damaged point will compromise hole tolerance and accelerate workpiece damage.
