The OSG 8595567 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in professional machining and fabrication environments. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 120-degree faceted drill point and web-thinned, tapered web construction for improved penetration and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm (approximately 0.236 inches) in diameter and fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 0.2232 inches (5.67 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 72.00 mm (approximately 2.835 inches), this bit is sized for close-tolerance work in tight clearance applications. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The screw machine length format — shorter than jobber length — provides increased rigidity and reduced deflection, making it a preferred choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where overhang must be minimized. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper passes. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both production environments and precision repair work.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Part of OSG Series 1100.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the recommended RPM range for the workpiece material and bit diameter, and use appropriate cutting fluid where required by the workpiece material.
