The OSG 8595331 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in production and manufacturing environments. Built from vanadium high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The 130-degree, 4-facet point geometry with web thinning reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy at the start of each hole. At 50.00 mm overall length with an 18.00 mm flute length, it fits standard screw machine and CNC drill press setups. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this style of bit.
This drill bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals in high-cycle production applications. Its screw machine length — shorter than jobber length — provides added rigidity and reduced deflection, making it well suited for close-tolerance work on drill presses, turret lathes, and CNC machining centers. The regular spiral flute design ensures consistent chip evacuation across a range of work materials.
Designed as a screw machine length replacement drill bit for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where a 4.00 mm shank diameter is required.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool room personnel. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a compatible drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before cycling. Follow all machine guarding and PPE requirements per shop safety standards. Do not exceed the spindle speed and feed rate specifications recommended for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
