The OSG 8595222 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 130-degree, 4-facet point geometry reduces walking at entry and allows faster penetration with less thrust. At 45.00 mm overall length and 2.22 mm diameter, it is sized for compact drilling in tight clearance setups typical of screw machine work and short-run production environments. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC operators working with drill presses, turret lathes, or machining centers.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The screw machine length format keeps the tool shorter than jobber-length bits, improving rigidity and reducing deflection when drilling small-diameter holes in production runs. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation for the target workpiece materials.
