The OSG 8595204 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and light fabrication applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 millimeters in diameter and the overall length is 44.00 millimeters (approximately 1.73 inches), keeping it compact for use in turret lathes, CNC screw machines, and drill presses where rigid, stub-length tooling is required. This is a right-hand cut, two-flute design suited for production environments.
This drill bit is sized at 0.0803 inches (2.04 millimeters) in diameter with a flute length of 12.00 millimeters (approximately 0.47 inches). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make it appropriate for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. It is packaged and sold individually and is well suited to toolroom, production machining, and maintenance repair operations where screw machine length drills are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option for screw machine length drill applications in OSG Series 1100. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces as stated by the manufacturer. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or seating tooling. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before drilling to preserve the diameter tolerance of this bit. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material being drilled.
