The OSG 8595182 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for short-hole drilling operations where rigidity and precision matter. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit runs a 140-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 millimeters in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders. At 0.0717 inches (1.82 mm) in diameter and 43.00 mm overall length, it is sized for fine, accurate work in tight-tolerance applications. Machinists, tool and die techs, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in metals including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The screw machine length body keeps deflection low, making it a practical choice for cross-drilling, tapping prep, and small-diameter hole work on lathes, drill presses, and machining centers. The 2-flute spiral design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio promotes chip evacuation in short blind or through holes. It ships as a single piece with no coolant-through feature, so it is best used with external flood or mist cooling when cutting stainless or hard alloys.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill bit in the OSG Series 1100 line, suitable for use with standard drill chucks and CNC tool holders accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with drill press, lathe, or CNC machining center operation. Secure the shank fully in the tool holder and confirm runout before cutting. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed ratings for the workpiece material, and apply appropriate external coolant when drilling hardened or stainless steel to prevent premature wear.
