The OSG 8595129 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for precision drilling in metal and alloy workpiece materials. It measures 0.0508 inches (1.29 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 40.00 mm (approximately 1.57 inches) and a flute length of 8.00 mm (approximately 0.31 inches). The 140-degree faceted point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry force and improve centering on hard materials. Constructed from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit is built for high-performance applications where tool life and cut quality matter. It features a straight-cylindrical shank with a 3.00 mm (approximately 0.12 inches) shank diameter and a regular spiral flute with two flutes.
This drill bit is suited for use on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The screw machine length designation means a shorter overall length compared to jobber-length bits, which improves rigidity and reduces deflection in close-tolerance drilling operations. It fits CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines where compact tooling is required. The right-hand cut and spiral flute geometry support efficient chip evacuation. This bit is part of the OSG Series 1100 and is appropriate for machinists, toolroom technicians, and precision fabricators working in production or maintenance environments.
Designed for use on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Compatible with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and screw machines accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 1100 product family.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists and toolroom technicians following standard machine tool setup procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the appropriate collet or drill chuck before operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is de-energized before changing or inspecting tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid application should be used as required by the workpiece material and cutting conditions.
