The OSG 8595102 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal and alloy applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The bit features a 140-degree faceted point angle with web thinning for improved penetration and reduced thrust force. At 1.4961 inches overall length, the stub-length body provides rigidity and minimizes deflection in precision drilling operations. This bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required.
The 8595102 is intended for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Its screw machine length profile makes it a standard choice in production environments, toolrooms, and job shops where compact drill geometry is preferred for stub drilling applications. The straight cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and collet systems. The 2-flute regular spiral configuration supports chip evacuation in both manual and automated drilling cycles.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit for applications requiring a wire gauge size 60 screw machine length drill in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum workpieces. Compatible with any drill chuck or collet system accepting a 3.00 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Install and remove drill bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and the machine is de-energized or locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Small-diameter bits at this size range are susceptible to breakage from side loading and excessive feed pressure — follow the machine tool manufacturer's recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for wear or chipping before each use.
