The OSG 8594065 is a jobber-length twist drill bit engineered for high-performance metal drilling applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It measures 6.5 mm in diameter with a 101 mm overall length and a 63 mm flute length. The 120-degree split point uses X-thinning to reduce thrust force and improve self-centering on entry, eliminating the need for a center punch in most applications. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, fabricators, and maintenance technicians working on production or jobsite drilling tasks.
The 8594065 is designed for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The regular spiral flute geometry and tapered web configuration promote chip evacuation in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This bit is a strong fit for manual drill press work, CNC machining centers, and handheld power tools where a straight-cylindrical shank is compatible. It does not support coolant-through operation.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill presses, machining centers, and handheld power tools accepting a 6.5 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece materials coded P, M, K, and N per ISO material classification, covering steels, stainless steels, cast irons, and non-ferrous alloys.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or skilled tradesperson familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck and verify zero runout before beginning a cut. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed range for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
