The OSG 8594035 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from vanadium high speed steel and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It measures 3.5 mm in diameter with an overall length of 70 mm and a flute length of 39 mm. The 120-degree drill point angle and X-thinned web geometry reduce thrust force at entry and improve self-centering behavior. It is suited for production machining, toolroom work, and precision fabrication environments where consistent hole tolerances are required.
This drill bit is intended for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. It performs in blind hole, cross hole, standard drilling, and self-centering applications. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks, collet holders, and keyless chuck systems commonly found on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools. The OSG Series 1800 product line is positioned as a high-performance general-purpose drill series appropriate for professional machine shop and industrial maintenance use.
Designed as a high-performance jobber-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting 3.5 mm straight-cylindrical shanks across CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This bit is installed and removed by a licensed machinist or trained tool-and-die technician following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from any chuck or collet holder. Secure the shank to the full recommended grip depth to prevent pullout under cutting load. Follow the machine manufacturer and OSG cutting data recommendations for speed and feed when setting up for a new material or operation.
