The OSG 8556070 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 4 mm cutting diameter, 11 mm length of cut, and a 0.2 mm corner radius, this single-end tool delivers controlled edge geometry that reduces stress concentrations at part corners and extends tool life. The variable helix flute design minimizes chatter and vibration during both roughing and finishing passes. A Duarise PVD coating provides enhanced hardness and thermal resistance, making this end mill suitable for demanding materials including steels, stainless steels, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is installed by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This end mill fits standard toolholders with a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers performing roughing and finishing operations on precision components. The 60 mm overall length and regular length-type classification make it well suited for general-purpose milling where extended reach is not required. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to milling strategies without changing tools.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining centers performing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as part of the OSG Series 8215 product line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified CNC machinists following machine builder guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify runout and tool projection before initiating a cut. Follow shop and machine manufacturer specifications for appropriate clamping torque on the toolholder collet or chuck.
