The OSG 8549725 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 2.5 mm cutting diameter and 4 flutes, it delivers clean, accurate cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 43-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. A DUROREY coating extends tool life by increasing surface hardness and heat resistance. At 60 mm overall length with a 6 mm shank diameter and 6.3 mm length of cut, this end mill is engineered for tight-tolerance work on CNC machining centers and manual mills alike.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling operations in production and job shop environments. The micrograin carbide substrate supports high cutting speeds and maintains edge integrity under demanding conditions. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. It is a single-end tool, center-cutting, with no extended reach, making it a straightforward choice for general-purpose finish and semi-finish milling passes.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the 6 mm shank fully into a collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run.
