The OSG 8549715 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding cutting applications. With a 1.5mm mill diameter and 4-flute geometry, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish in tight-tolerance work. The 43-degree helix angle reduces cutting forces and vibration, making it well suited for high-speed machining of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The DUROREY finish adds surface hardness and wear resistance to extend tool life. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge cuts in addition to peripheral and slot milling. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists.
This end mill is designed for small-diameter precision milling operations common in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and medical device manufacturing. The 3.8mm length of cut suits shallow slotting and profiling passes. The 6mm shank diameter provides rigid coupling to standard collet systems, and the 60mm overall length keeps deflection low in most standard setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match conventional CNC machining center spindle configurations.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard collet systems accepting a 6mm shank diameter. Suitable for slotting, profiling, and plunge milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where small-diameter precision cutting is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Secure the 6mm shank fully within a properly sized collet or tool holder to the recommended clamping depth to minimize runout and deflection. At 1.5mm diameter, this tool is highly sensitive to excessive cutting loads — verify feed rates and depths of cut against the material being machined before running at full parameters.
