The OSG 84400623 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and composite materials. With a 3/16 inch cutting diameter and a 15/32 inch length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where accuracy and tool life are critical. The 43-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces, while the micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding applications. The DUROREY finish further extends tool life in abrasive materials. Four flutes deliver a balance of chip clearance and cutting edge strength. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists working in precision shops will recognize this as a production-grade tool built for consistency.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials. The 1/4 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in job shop and production environments. The 2-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection at typical cutting depths. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry is the standard configuration for conventional milling setups. The centercutting design allows plunge milling when the application requires it, adding flexibility without a tool change.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with 1/4 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for collet torque and tool runout. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an energy-isolated state before inserting or removing the tool. Verify collet condition and cleanliness before seating the shank to prevent runout that can cause premature tool failure. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine-specific operating procedures when setting cutting parameters.
