The OSG 82204621 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal across a wide range of workpiece materials. Designed in the OSG Series 8220, this single-end, center-cutting tool features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 1/8-inch (0.1250-inch) corner radius, and four helical flutes with a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish. The Duarise PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. With an overall length of 5.25 inches and a 3-1/4-inch reach length, this end mill is built for extended-reach applications where standard-length tools cannot access the cut zone. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and CNC programmers in metalworking environments.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The stub length-of-cut profile at 0.1575 inches decimal and a 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholders used on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The variable helix flute design helps manage cutting forces in difficult-to-machine alloys and hardened steels. It is a strong choice for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision metalwork where corner integrity and surface quality are critical.
Designed for use with standard toolholders on CNC machining centers. Primary workpiece material categories include Steel (P), Stainless Steel (M), Cast Iron (K), Non-Ferrous Metal (N), Superalloys and Titanium (S), and Hard Material (H). Shank diameter tolerance is h6 for reliable toolholder fit.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Verify toolholder bore condition and cleanliness before seating the shank to prevent runout. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when tightening collet nuts or set screws, and confirm tool projection length matches the programmed reach before running the first part.
