The OSG 82203221 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. It features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the tool tip and extends tool life in high-load applications. The variable helix geometry helps break up harmonics and minimize chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. A Duarise PVD coating provides thermal and wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. This tool is single-end, center-cutting, and ready for use in CNC machining centers with a standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholder.
The OSG 82203221 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its extended reach design, with a 2-1/4-inch reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 0.588 inches, makes it well-suited for deep-pocket and shoulder milling operations where clearance is limited. The stub flute length combined with overall extended reach gives machinists flexibility in setups requiring both rigidity and access depth. It is appropriate for use in job shops, production machining, and aerospace or tooling applications where tight tolerances and material versatility are required.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. Suitable for CNC machining centers running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as listed in OSG Series 8220 application data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully in a compatible toolholder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth before operation. Verify runout at the cutting edge prior to first use. Always confirm spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before tool changes.
