The OSG 70200316 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built on OSG Series 7020, this stub-length end mill features a 1/16 inch cutting diameter with a 3/16 inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. The diamond finish coating improves surface hardness and lubricity, reducing heat buildup during aggressive cuts. With only 2 flutes and a micrograin carbide substrate, the tool maintains rigidity and edge integrity in tight-tolerance slots, pockets, and contours at small diameters. It is centercutting and configured for right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes, making it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindles.
This end mill is suited for precision slot milling, pocketing, and contouring operations on CNC machining centers and high-speed mills. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems, and the 1/2 inch extended reach makes it practical for accessing deeper features without excessive tool deflection. It is intended for machinists and tooling specialists working on tight-tolerance components in aerospace, mold-making, medical device, and general precision machining environments where small-diameter tooling and dimensional accuracy are critical.
Designed for use with standard 1/8 inch collet systems on CNC machining centers and high-speed milling machines. Part of the OSG Series 7020 square end mill line for small-diameter precision work.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe state. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or tool holder and torque to the machine manufacturer specification. At this diameter, runout control is critical — verify total indicator runout before cutting. Do not exceed the recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and coating type.
