The OSG 6737005 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from M35 Powdered Metal High Speed Steel and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN), this tool delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to standard HSS end mills. It carries a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inches) cutting diameter, a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inches) length of cut, and a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inches) shank diameter. With 2 flutes and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix, it is well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring in tight-tolerance applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on small-feature work will find this end mill particularly relevant.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. The 0.0313 inch cutting diameter makes it appropriate for fine detail work such as micro-slotting, engraving paths, and small-pocket milling in mold making, die work, and prototype machining. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as peripheral cuts. The regular-length configuration provides rigidity for consistent finishes at this diameter. The TiN coating extends tool life in moderate to hard workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-specification cutting tool for use in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and ER-style collets accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Part of the OSG Series 673 end mill line.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter tooling practices. Secure the 3/16 inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer specification before use. At 0.0313 inch diameter, feed rates and depth of cut must be carefully calculated to avoid tool breakage — consult published cutting data for M35 HSS tools at this diameter range. Always bring spindle to full speed before engaging the workpiece, and ensure the workholding setup minimizes vibration.
