The OSG 661012517 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to Series 6610 specifications, this bit features a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch decimal) diameter, a 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry, and a 3-flute spiral configuration for improved chip evacuation. The EgiAs coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. With a total overall length of 86 millimeters and a flute length of 29 millimeters, this bit is suited for precision drilling tasks where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and metalworking tradespeople in shop and field environments.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel — corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling operations relative to diameter. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Tool applications include general drilling, self-centering operations, and cross-hole work. Coolant-through capability supports extended tool life in high-cycle production environments where heat management is critical.
Designed as a high-performance OEM-style replacement for solid carbide jobber-length drill bits used in metalworking applications across ISO material groups P, M, K, and H including steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or metalworking tradespeople using a compatible drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld drill with an appropriate chuck or collet rated for the 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the workpiece material specifications before use. Ensure coolant lines are connected and flowing when using the coolant-through feature to prevent premature coating breakdown. Inspect the shank and chuck seating for runout before beginning any drilling operation.
