The OSG 6602100 is a single-end square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from powdered metal, it delivers consistent edge hardness and wear resistance across the cutting zone. The tool runs a 0.625-inch mill diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut, a matching 0.625-inch shank diameter, and a 3.75-inch overall length. The 3-flute design combined with a 50-degree helix angle promotes aggressive chip evacuation and smooth cutting action, making it well suited for slotting, peripheral milling, and light profiling in a CNC or manual milling environment.
This end mill fits into standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.625-inch shank. The Series 660 regular-length configuration is a common choice for job shops and production environments handling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and similar materials where powdered metal tooling is the cost-effective alternative to solid carbide. The centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece, giving machinists flexibility when programming pocketing or plunge-entry operations. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with milling tool setup procedures. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tightening to the holder manufacturer's torque specification. Inspect the cutting edges visually before each use and replace the tool at the first sign of chipping or excessive wear to prevent workpiece damage or holder damage.
