The OSG 6600300 is a square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from powdered metal, this tool delivers consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter, making it well suited for light-to-medium material removal in both manual and CNC setups. The 50-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With three flutes in a spiral configuration and a right-hand cut with right-hand flute direction, this end mill balances chip load and surface finish across a range of applications.
This end mill is appropriate for use in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and benchtop CNC routers where a 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder is available. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece, adding flexibility for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. At 2-7/16 inches overall length with a regular-length geometry, it fits standard tool holders without requiring extended-reach adapters. Machinists, tool and die makers, and general job shop operators working in production or prototype environments will find this a practical single-end tool for everyday material removal tasks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling option for machining setups requiring a 3/8 inch shank, single-end square profile end mill in the OSG Series 660 line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder or collet is clean and undamaged before inserting the end mill. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or end mill holder to prevent tool pullout during operation. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for speed and feed selection based on the workpiece material.
