The OSG 653018712 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. With a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) diameter and a 140-degree split point angle, this bit delivers accurate entry and reduced thrust across a range of materials. The EgiAs finish on the flute surfaces supports heat resistance and extended tool life. X-thinned web geometry reduces cutting resistance and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes this bit well suited to deep-hole drilling setups where heat buildup and chip removal are critical concerns. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill bit fits residential and commercial machine shop environments, production drilling lines, and job shop applications where tight-tolerance holes are required. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio and taper length body make it effective for deeper penetration than standard jobber-length bits. The straight shank provides direct compatibility with standard drill chucks and collet holders. Part of the OSG Series 6530, this bit is intended for use in metalworking operations where solid carbide construction is specified over high-speed steel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for taper length solid carbide drill bits in the OSG Series 6530 product family. Straight shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting 3/16 inch shank diameters.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure spindle and workpiece are fully secured before engaging the drill. When using coolant-through capability, verify coolant supply lines are connected and pressure is appropriate for the machine setup before operation. Inspect the cutting edge and web condition before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or wear is detected.
