The OSG 653012212 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built from solid carbide construction, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for production drilling in harder materials. The bit features a 140-degree split point angle with X-thinned web geometry, which reduces thrust force at entry and improves centering accuracy. A right-hand spiral flute and straight shank round out the design, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. At 0.1220 inches (3.10 mm) in diameter with a 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit is suited for deep-hole work where a jobber-length drill would fall short.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other precision machine tool setups where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. The EgiAs coating provides enhanced lubricity and heat resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials alike. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed drilling cycles and chip evacuation in deep-hole operations. It is typically installed and operated by machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators in industrial manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement drill bit in the OSG Series 6530 product line. Fits standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill holders accepting a 4.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and undamaged before seating the shank. Use a properly sized collet or chuck to achieve full shank engagement and minimize runout. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant supply pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machine setup before beginning the drilling cycle.
