The OSG 653011012 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 6530 standards, it features a 140-degree split point geometry and an EgiAs coating for extended tool life and reduced cutting forces. The 2.8 mm diameter and 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for deep-hole drilling where chip evacuation and hole quality are critical. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed machining operations. This bit is typically installed and operated by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC and manual drilling applications.
The OSG 653011012 is designed for use in precision metal removal operations including drilling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. The straight cylindrical shank provides secure clamping in standard drill chucks and collet systems. Its taper length body gives extra reach compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice when drilling deeper features in molds, fixtures, dies, and structural components. The right-hand spiral flute configuration pulls chips out of the hole efficiently during operation.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for Series 6530 taper length carbide drill bits with a 3.0 mm straight cylindrical shank, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting that shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify shank seating and runout with an indicator before initiating a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting feed rates and spindle speeds for carbide tooling.
