The OSG 651038911 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 25/64 inch (9.92 mm / 0.3906 inch decimal) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and an R-thinned web for improved self-centering and reduced thrust. The bit features a two-flute spiral configuration with a regular spiral type and carries an EgiAs coating for extended tool life. Overall length is 136 mm (approximately 5.35 inches) with an 80 mm (approximately 3.15 inches) flute length. It is part of the OSG Series 6510 and is built for professionals who require consistent, repeatable hole quality in tough materials.
This bit is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and H. It handles blind holes, cross holes, standard through-drilling, and self-centering operations. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications while maintaining chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it compatible with machine tool spindles that deliver internal coolant, reducing heat buildup when drilling difficult alloys. A 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders used on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with standard drill chucks or collet holders accepting a 7/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys (ISO codes P, K, S, H).
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Carbide drill bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without proper feed adjustments, and re-chucking on worn or out-of-true holders. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine and tool manufacturer guidelines before engaging the spindle.
