The OSG 651023311 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 15/64 inches (0.2344 inches decimal, 5.95 mm) in diameter with a 100 mm overall length and features a 140-degree R-thinned point for accurate self-centering entry. The EgiAs coating extends tool life in abrasive materials by reducing heat and friction at the cutting edge. Two spiral flutes in a regular helix configuration evacuate chips efficiently during blind-hole and through-hole operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production drill press operators are the primary users of this bit.
The 651023311 is built for cutting steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and H. Its 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders commonly found on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and bench drill presses. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it well-suited for deep blind-hole drilling where chip packing and heat buildup are primary concerns. Cross-hole and self-centering drilling applications are also supported by the tool geometry.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys (ISO material codes P, K, S, H). Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of OSG Series 6510.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the straight shank fully and securely in the chuck or collet before operation. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the spindle and toolholder in use. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
