The OSG 651009412 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and demanding workpiece materials. It measures 2.4 mm in diameter with an overall length of 70 mm and a flute length of 22 mm. The 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry reduces entry force and improves self-centering on flat and curved surfaces. The EgiAs coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. Two spiral flutes in a regular helix clear chips efficiently during through and blind hole drilling. This bit is sized for precision applications where tight diameter tolerance matters, holding +0 to -0.014 mm. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication and production environments.
The OSG 651009412 is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys, covering ISO material codes P, K, S, and H. It handles blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, standard through-hole drilling, and self-centering applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth holes in production and maintenance settings. Coolant-through capability supports higher feed rates and better chip evacuation when used with compatible toolholders and coolant-delivery systems. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3 mm shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks common in CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy (ISO codes P, K, S, H). Fits standard 3 mm straight-cylindrical collet chucks and drill chucks on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the collet or chuck before use to prevent pullout under cutting load. When using coolant-through capability, verify that the toolholder and spindle support internal coolant delivery and that coolant pressure is set per machine specifications. Carbide is brittle — avoid side-loading or impact, and never use this bit to ream or enlarge an existing hole by off-center entry.
