The OSG 650025011 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It measures 0.25 inches (1/4 inch, Letter E, 6.35 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 88 mm and a flute length of 32 mm. The 140-degree split point reduces walking and enables fast penetration, while the R-thinned web lowers thrust requirements in tough materials. A coated finish improves wear resistance and extends tool life. This bit is built for machinists, tool and die shops, and skilled tradespeople who need consistent, repeatable hole quality in hard metals.
The OSG 650025011 is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. Its screw machine length profile fits standard drill chucks on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design support high-feed-rate production environments where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical. It is part of OSG Series 6500, a line engineered for high-performance ferrous and hard-material applications.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces. Compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks across CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses accepting a 0.25-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck to the manufacturer-specified holding depth before running the spindle. Verify coolant-through supply lines are clear and delivering adequate flow before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tools can fail suddenly if run while damaged.
