The OSG 650010612 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The bit measures 0.1063 inches (2.70 mm) in diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle optimized for fast, accurate entry into hard and tough materials. It features a right-hand spiral flute design, a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 3.00 mm in diameter, and a total overall length of 66.00 mm (approximately 2.60 inches). Coolant-through capability supports heat management during deep or high-speed drilling. This bit is installed and used by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The OSG 650010612 is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. Its screw machine length body, with a flute-to-diameter ratio of 3xD and a flute length of 17.00 mm (approximately 0.67 inches), makes it a practical choice for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations where rigidity and short-reach accuracy are required. The Series 6500 designation places it in OSGs high-performance carbide drill lineup. The R-thinned web configuration reduces entry thrust and improves chip flow at the cutting tip.
Designed for use in drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. Fits standard toolholding systems accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 6500 high-performance solid carbide drill line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify that the toolholder bore and collet are clean and properly sized for a 3.00 mm shank before securing the bit. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that the machine spindle and toolholder are configured to deliver coolant internally. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in setups with excessive runout or unsupported workpiece overhang.
