The OSG 640-1882 is a solid carbide diamond pattern router bit designed for cutting and finishing fiberglass materials. With a cutter diameter of 0.1875 inches and a 0.625-inch length of cut, this burr-style bit removes material efficiently while controlling fraying and delamination common in composite and fiberglass work. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard router collets and die grinder chucks. At 2 inches overall length, it balances reach with rigidity. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is suited for abrasive non-metallic materials where coating adhesion is less critical and regrindability is a priority.
This router bit is intended for use on fiberglass panels, FRP sheeting, boat hull work, HVAC duct liner, and similar composite fabrication tasks. The right-hand cutting direction and diamond pattern geometry make it well suited for deburring edges, trimming cured fiberglass, and cleaning up routed openings in panel shop or field service environments. Technicians working with composite HVAC components, marine fabricators, and specialty contractors will find this bit applicable to a range of material removal and finishing operations.
Designed for use in routers and die grinders accepting a 1/4-inch collet. Rated for fiberglass material application as specified by the manufacturer.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists, fabricators, or trade technicians working with composite materials. Always ensure the tool is fully de-energized and the collet is clean and properly torqued before seating the shank. Eye protection and respiratory protection are recommended when routing fiberglass due to airborne particulate. Inspect the bit for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide can fracture if run at improper speeds or fed into hardened inclusions.
