The OSG 63603 is a 90-degree spotting drill designed to create accurate center points for follow-on drilling operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it offers improved surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The drill features a 3mm cutting diameter, a 48mm overall length, and an 11mm flute length. With a 2-flute spiral design and a 20-degree helix angle, it evacuates chips efficiently and maintains positional accuracy at the start of a hole. The straight cylindrical shank measures 3mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard collet and drill chuck setups.

This spotting drill is suited for general purpose machining in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is used to establish a precise starting divot before a twist drill or reamer is applied, reducing walking and improving hole location accuracy.
