The OSG 62615 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated HSS bits. The bit measures 11.5 mm in diameter with an overall length of 151 mm and a flute length of 94 mm. The 120-degree S-thinned point promotes self-centering entry and reduces the thrust force required to start a hole. Technicians and machinists working on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloys reach for this bit when consistent, repeatable hole quality is the priority.
The OSG 62615 suits production drilling environments as well as maintenance and repair operations where a reliable general-purpose drill bit is needed for through-hole and blind-hole work. Its straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard three-jaw chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. The two-flute spiral configuration clears chips efficiently, making it appropriate for cross-hole drilling and self-centering applications. It is sold individually and intended for professional use on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloy workpieces.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills equipped with chucks that accept a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloy workpieces.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols for chip ejection. Reduce feed pressure when the point breaks through to avoid bit deflection or workpiece damage.
