The OSG 62570 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced heat buildup in production and maintenance drilling applications. The bit measures 7 mm in diameter with a 120-degree drill point angle and an S-thinned web for easier self-centering entry. Overall length is 113 mm with a 69 mm flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8 mm in diameter, fitting standard keyless and keyed chucks. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators use this bit in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand drills.
The OSG 62570 is suited for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The regular spiral flute promotes chip evacuation during straight drilling operations. It is well matched to production environments where consistent diameter tolerance and repeatable hole quality are required. Diameter tolerance is held to +0 to -0.022 mm. The bit does not support coolant-through delivery, so external flood or mist coolant should be used when drilling tough alloys or at elevated feed rates.
Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Suitable for tool applications including blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, general drilling, and self-centering operations. Part of OSG Series 1600.
Installation and use of this drill bit should follow standard machining safety practices. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Apply appropriate cutting fluid or external coolant when drilling stainless steel or hard alloys to prevent work hardening and premature edge wear. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine setup.
