The OSG 62561 is a jobber-length twist drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from vanadium high speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It cuts in a right-hand direction with a standard spiral flute and features an S-thinned point at 120 degrees for improved self-centering and reduced thrust. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 8.00 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this Series 1600 bit.
This bit is suited for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through-holes in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloys, and aluminum silicate. It performs well in both manual and CNC-assisted drilling operations where consistent hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required. The 120-degree point angle is a general-purpose geometry appropriate for a wide range of these materials. Install into a compatible drill chuck or collet rated for the 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank before use. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
