The OSG 62543 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit resists heat and wear during extended use. It features a 4.3 mm diameter, a 120-degree S-thinned point, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration with a tapered web. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter. With an overall length of 91.00 mm and a flute length of 47.00 mm, it fits standard jobber-length toolholders and chucks. Diameter tolerance is held to +0 to -0.018 mm for consistent, repeatable hole sizing.
This drill bit suits precision drilling operations in metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and maintenance applications. It is rated for blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, through-hole drilling, and self-centering starts on prepared surfaces. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, and N cover carbon steel, stainless steel, and nonferrous materials including aluminum and aluminum alloys. The OSG Series 1600 is intended for high-performance production and toolroom environments where dimensional accuracy and tool life are priorities.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Suitable for blind hole, cross hole, standard drilling, and self-centering applications per OSG Series 1600 specifications.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with rotary cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck or toolholder and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before starting the cut. Always set spindle speed and feed rate appropriate to workpiece material and machine capacity. Do not exceed the bit's rated cutting envelope and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant where required by the workpiece material.
