The OSG 62539 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 3.9 mm diameter and 130-degree split point with S-thinned web geometry allow for self-centering entry and reduced thrust force, making it well suited for precision hole work in production environments. With an overall length of 75 mm and a 43 mm flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and CNC setups. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabricators are the primary users.
The OSG 62539 is rated for drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpiece materials. It performs in blind hole, cross hole, through-hole, and self-centering drilling operations, covering a wide range of common shop tasks. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard keyless and keyed chucks. This bit is part of OSG Series 1600, positioned as a high-performance general-purpose jobber drill for repetitive production use or precision one-off work.

Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with drill press, lathe, or CNC machining setups. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel or other work-hardening materials to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or coating loss is observed.
