The OSG 62537 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in metalworking applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel (HSS) and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, the bit offers improved wear resistance and heat dissipation compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It measures 3.7 mm in diameter with a 71 mm overall length and a 39 mm flute length. The 130-degree split point (S-thinned) reduces walking at entry and lowers thrust force, making it well suited for production drilling and general-purpose work in machine shops, maintenance environments, and fabrication settings. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the typical end users.
The OSG 62537 is suited for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Its right-hand spiral flute geometry and regular spiral type promote efficient chip evacuation in these materials. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. This bit fits production and maintenance drilling scenarios where consistent diameter tolerance and reliable point geometry are required.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this bit.
This bit is installed by a machinist or maintenance technician in a drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld drill with a compatible chuck. Ensure the machine is fully stopped and de-energized before changing tooling. Confirm shank seating and chuck tightness before initiating a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant for steel and stainless steel applications to extend tool life.
