The OSG 62534 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for accurate, efficient hole-making in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The 130-degree split point (S-thinned) initiates cutting without a center punch, resisting walking on entry. At 3.4 mm in diameter with a 71 mm overall length and 39 mm flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and is suited for tight-tolerance work requiring a diameter tolerance of +0 to -0.018 mm. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces, covering the P, M, and N material codes common in ISO cutting tool classification. It is well suited for blind hole drilling, cross-hole operations, self-centering entry, and general through-hole drilling on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. The straight-cylindrical shank at 4.0 mm diameter seats cleanly in standard keyless or keyed chucks without slipping under moderate feed pressure.
Designed as a jobber-length replacement or production drill for use in manual drill presses, milling machines, and CNC machining centers accepting a 4.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for P, M, and N workpiece material classifications per ISO tool coding.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate or spindle speed for the workpiece material being drilled. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external cutting fluid as needed based on material and depth of cut.
