The OSG 62528 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose and high-performance drilling in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The bit measures 2.8 mm in diameter with an overall length of 65 mm and a flute length of 33 mm. The 130-degree S-thinned point promotes self-centering and reduces thrust when entering the workpiece. It is sold individually and suited for production and maintenance drilling applications across metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, and industrial service environments.
This bit is engineered for drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. It performs well in blind hole, cross hole, and standard through-hole drilling scenarios. The right-hand spiral flute with a regular spiral type and tapered web configuration provides consistent chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank at 3.00 mm fits standard drill chucks and collet holders used in both handheld and machine tool setups. The OSG Series 1600 line is positioned for high-performance production use where tolerance and finish consistency matter.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate per OSG Series 1600 specifications.
Install and replace drill bits with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at rest. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material. Inspect the cutting edge and TiN coating condition before each use and replace the bit when the coating shows significant wear or the edge is chipped.
