The OSG 62527 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. It is manufactured from vanadium high-speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN) to extend tool life and reduce friction at the cutting edge. The 130-degree split point geometry with S-thinned web promotes self-centering entry and reduces thrust force, making it well-suited for production drilling where accuracy and tool longevity matter. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.0 mm in diameter and fits standard drill chucks without modification. Overall length is 65 mm with a flute length of 33 mm.
This bit is intended for use in blind hole, cross hole, and through-hole drilling applications across a range of workpiece materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum silicate. It is part of OSG Series 1600, a line built for high-performance general-purpose drilling in both manual and CNC-driven operations. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this bit appropriate for everyday production use.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Suitable for blind hole, cross hole, general drilling, and self-centering applications as specified by OSG Series 1600 tooling parameters.
Install in a standard drill chuck or collet that accepts a 3.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Secure workpieces firmly before drilling to prevent movement and maintain hole accuracy. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant where workpiece material and machine setup permit, even though this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace when the TiN coating shows significant wear at the point.
