The OSG 61675 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit measures 0.689 inches (17.50 mm) in diameter and features a 120-degree faceted drill point for accurate entry and reduced walking. The shortened screw machine length format provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes where controlled depth and minimal deflection are priorities. Two spiral flutes with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration improve chip evacuation and reduce thrust during cutting.
This bit is engineered for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 20.00 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard chucks and collets. The Series 1100 designation places this tool within OSG's high-performance drill line, intended for shops running moderate-to-high volume metal cutting operations where tool life and hole quality are critical. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both manual and CNC-controlled setups.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 20.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces as noted in OSG Series 1100 specifications.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material when drilling steel or stainless steel to manage heat buildup; note that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges and web-thinned point for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if edge integrity is compromised.
