The OSG 61595 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from vanadium high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction at the cutting edge. The bit measures 9.50 mm (0.3740 inches) in diameter with a 120-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for reduced thrust and improved chip evacuation. Overall length is 90.00 mm (3.54 inches) with a 40.00 mm (1.57 inches) flute length. The straight cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm (0.394 inches) in diameter. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary installers.
The OSG 61595 is suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate in production and job shop environments. Its screw machine length profile — shorter than jobber length — provides added rigidity and reduced deflection, making it well-suited for use in turret lathes, screw machines, and machining centers where stub-length tools are preferred. The 2-flute regular spiral design handles a broad range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Series 1100 construction reflects OSG high-performance tooling standards.
Designed for use with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 10.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with drill press, lathe, or machining center operation. Secure the shank fully in a chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to maximize tool life. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use and replace if the TiN coating is fully worn through at the point.
