The OSG 6153311 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, it features a 0.1299 inch (3.30 mm) diameter, a 130-degree four-facet point, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The shortened screw machine length body improves rigidity and reduces deflection compared to jobber-length bits, making it well-suited for precision hole placement in production and maintenance environments. A straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard chucks and collets.
This drill bit is designed for cutting steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force at entry and improves chip evacuation. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a flute length of 18.00 mm, it is well-matched to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment where short, stiff tooling is preferred. It ships as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for applications requiring a 0.1299 inch diameter screw machine length drill bit in OSG Series 1100. Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool operators familiar with cutting tool safety practices. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify that shank diameter, chuck capacity, and spindle speed are matched to the tool diameter and workpiece material before beginning cuts. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended feed rates or spindle speeds for the workpiece material being drilled.
