The OSG 61533 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree faceted point angle and web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at the start of the cut. At 0.1299 inches (3.30 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 50.00 mm, the stubby screw machine length profile provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for precision drilling in tight setups and on machine tools. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.00 mm in diameter for secure chuck engagement.
This drill bit is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools where short-length rigidity and accurate hole location are required. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and two-flute spiral design support efficient chip removal across these materials. It is a single-unit item packaged individually and suited for tool crib stock or direct machine-side use.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces as specified by the manufacturer for the OSG Series 1100.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified trade professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is properly tightened before beginning any drilling operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to extend tool life, noting that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material and hole depth.
