The OSG 595526211 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding production environments. It measures 6.65 mm (0.2618 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a proprietary WXS (SiC-based) coating that improves wear resistance and extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The overall length is 102 mm (4.0157 inches) with a flute length of 54 mm (2.126 inches). Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, reducing heat buildup and improving chip evacuation in deep-hole applications. This drill is installed and used by machinists and CNC operators in metalworking and manufacturing settings.
This drill bit is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where consistent, repeatable hole quality is required. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make it appropriate for general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. It is a right-hand cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank, fitting standard drill chucks and collet systems. Applications include production drilling in automotive, aerospace, and general industrial fabrication where solid carbide tooling is specified over high-speed steel for longer run life.
Designed as a jobber-length carbide drill for use in CNC machining centers and production drilling equipment that accept straight-shank tooling in the 6.00 mm to 7.00 mm diameter range (0.2500 to 0.3000 inches).
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop, lockout/tagout condition per applicable shop safety standards. Ensure the collet or drill chuck is clean and properly sized for a straight cylindrical shank before seating the tool. When coolant-through capability is used, verify that the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant delivery before engaging coolant flow. Do not exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage under shock loading or excessive runout.
