The OSG 5937100 is a cobalt tapered end mill engineered for precision milling operations that require a controlled taper profile. Built from M42 high-cobalt steel, this tool delivers strong heat and wear resistance in demanding cutting environments. The square end geometry and 3-flute spiral design produce clean, accurate finishes on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/8-inch small end diameter, a 2-degree taper angle per side, and a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, the 5937100 suits tight-tolerance slotting, draft-angle milling, and die-work applications where consistent taper geometry is critical.
This end mill is suited for use in mold and die work, general machining, and production environments where tapered wall features are required. The right-hand flute direction and 25-degree helix angle support efficient chip evacuation in both conventional and climb milling setups. It is sized for use in standard 1/2-inch shank tool holders and is appropriate for manual mills, CNC machining centers, and knee mills running at appropriate speeds and feeds for cobalt tooling.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at a complete stop. Seat the 1/2-inch shank fully in the tool holder and torque the collet or set screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Speeds and feeds should be selected based on workpiece material and machine rigidity per standard cobalt tooling guidelines.
